Oskaloosa Girls Hold Off Eddyville-Blakesburg

Oskaloosa's Kenzie Gott drives to the basket versus Eddyville-Blakesburg's Tasha Alexander

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa High School Girls Basketball team held off persistent  pressure from the girls team from Eddyville-Blakesburg to take home a win Tuesday night 54-41.

The win puts the the team at 4 and 1 for the season, coming off a win against Newton on the 9th.

Kenzie Gott led in the scoring column with 20 points, but Taylor Crawford made herself known by adding an additional 15. Allie Christenson and Kena Veldhuizen each added 8 and Sarandyn Curtis added 3.

Kena Veldhuizen was the leader in assists with 12, and Gott pulled down 10 offensive and 6 defensive rebounds while blocking 2 shots.

Oskaloosa is set to take on Norwalk this Friday the 19th in Oskaloosa.

Eddyville-Blakesburg’s Tarah Alexander and Jarrah Jensen each had 9 points in the teams effort against Oskaloosa, with Tasha Alexander putting in 6 points of her own. Eddyville-Blakesburg is now 3 and 4 on the season with the 4th loss coming Tuesday night.
