Oskaloosa Girls Golf Places 2nd at Pella Invite with Continued Progress

Pella, Iowa — The Oskaloosa girls golf team turned in another solid performance Tuesday afternoon at Pella Golf and Country Club, finishing second out of four teams with a team score of 217. The effort marked continued improvement for the Indians as they gain experience with each outing this spring.

Leah Cohrt led the team with a 49, followed closely by Kaylee Main at 54. Karlyn Scott and Ireland McGraw each shot 57 to complete the varsity scoring, helping the Indians edge past Chariton (228) and Knoxville (240), while host Pella took the top team spot with a score of 208.

Gracie DeRonde and Avree Ebelsheiser also competed for Oskaloosa, carding 60 and 63 respectively, providing depth and solid support.

The team’s growth continues to be evident from meet to meet, with players tightening their scores and becoming more comfortable in competitive play. With each round, the squad builds consistency and momentum as postseason play draws closer.

Oskaloosa will send junior varsity players to Sigourney for competition today, while the varsity team is scheduled to compete again Friday in Mount Pleasant.
