Oskaloosa Girls Golf Breaks 400 at Edmundson in Conference Meet

OSKALOOSA, Iowa — The Oskaloosa High School girls golf team hit a milestone Monday at their home course, Edmundson Golf Course, during the third leg of the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament. The team posted a season-best score of 397, marking the first time this year they’ve broken the 400-stroke barrier.

Despite finishing 6th out of 6 teams, the performance was a major step forward for the squad. The Indians narrowed the gap on the tournament’s first-place team by 40 strokes, a strong indicator of the team’s growth and trajectory as the postseason approaches.

Leading the charge was Rian Allman, who carded a 97, followed closely by Hayden McCain with a 98. Gracie DeRonde turned in a 100, while both Kamryn Maddy and Leah Cohrt shot 101. Ireland McGraw rounded out the team’s scoring with a 104.

The team continues to build momentum as they prepare for the upcoming Regional tournament scheduled for next Wednesday. With consistent progress and lower scores across the roster, Oskaloosa is aiming to peak at the right time for a postseason push.
