Oskaloosa City Council meets in regular session

The Oskaloosa City Council met tonight at 6:30 pm in regular session in what was a relatively short meeting. To start the meeting, Mayor Dave Krutzfeldt gave out longevity plaques to the following individuals for their dedicated service to the city: Tim Nance (30 years) Steve Watts (30 years), Marilyn Johannes (25 years), Laura Russell (25 years), and Troy Boston (25 years). In other business, the city council:

  • Approved the appointment of Amy O’Brien and Jeff Sizewell to the Historic Preservation Commission
  • Approved multiple resolutions to sell portions of the East-West alley adjacent to 1201 and 1211 3rd Ave East
  • Approved an ordinance establishing a no parking zone along the North side of B Ave East
  • Approved a proposal from Public Financial Management to perform financial advisory and planning services for Oskaloosa
  • Went into closed session under Iowa Code section 21.5.1.j to discuss the purchase of real estate
  • Went into closed session to evaluate the professional competency of individuals whose appointment, hiring, or performance is being considered

The next meeting of the Oskaloosa City Council will be on January 17th at 6:30 pm in the City Council Chambers
