Oskaloosa Bowling Teams Dominate Norwalk: Boys Stay Undefeated, Girls Improve to 8-1
The Oskaloosa High School bowling teams continued their stellar performances this season with impressive victories over Norwalk on January 11, 2025. The boys’ team maintained their undefeated record, advancing to 9-0, while the girls improved to 8-1.
In the boys’ competition, Oskaloosa dominated with a total of 2,926 pins, comfortably ahead of Norwalk’s 2,623 pins. Trey VanWyk led the team with a standout performance, achieving the highest single game of the day with a score of 258 and the highest two-game series of 456. Cole VanderWal also contributed significantly with a 409 two-game series, while Marshall Seibert recorded the second-highest single game at 232. The boys’ team capped their performance with a strong finish in the Baker games, highlighted by scores of 201, 245, and 258, accumulating a total of 1,024 pins across five Baker games.
The girls’ team also excelled, earning a total of 2,341 pins to secure their victory over Norwalk’s 1,931 pins. Sidney Thompson delivered her best performance of the season, leading the team with a 449 two-game series and a high game of 237. Ava Ridenour and Regan Abrahamson added valuable contributions with games of 180 and 160, respectively. The girls’ team also impressed in the Baker games, recording a high score of 203.
The junior varsity teams showcased their depth and talent as well. Grady Kennedy led the JV boys with scores of 201 and 213 for a two-game series of 414, securing a win for the team. On the JV girls’ side, Aubrey Bowen bowled games of 122 and 132 for a total series of 254.
With these victories, both the boys’ and girls’ teams demonstrated their skill and determination as they progress through an already successful season.
