NO. 5 WARRIORS DRAW 2-2 WITH NORSEMEN
September 28, 2025
Ottumwa, IA – No. 5 Indian Hills Men’s Soccer earned a 2-2 draw with visiting Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on Sunday. The Warriors move to 6-1-2 overall on the year.
In its first all-time meeting with the Norse, Indian Hills jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first half, but NEO A&M was able to battle back, eventually providing the equalizer midway through the second stanza to earn the tie. Sunday’s match was the first time an Indian Hills squad matched up with an opponent from the state of Oklahoma.
The Warriors struck first at the 15:17 mark as freshman Adem Arous (Lyon, France/Moulin de Preuilly) received a lengthy pass from defender Bennett Kouame (St. Louis Park, MN/St. Louis Park). Arous slipped past the last Norse defender and found the back of the net for the second time this season.
Indian Hills doubled its lead just over a minute later as sophomore Fabian Arroyo (Ciudad Quesada, Costa Rica/Liceo San Carlos) netted his first goal of the season behind a series of passes from teammates Joseph Redmond (Basingstoke, England/Basingstoke Academy) and Noeh Liebl (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha West).
NEO A&M cut into the deficit just before the halftime intermission with a penalty kick goal at the 42:31 mark. The Norse provided the equalizer at the 71:50 mark of the second half following a scrum in the box.
Indian Hills saw a number of scoring opportunities in the final 45 minutes of play, but were unable to put the game out of reach. The Warriors outshot the Norse 15-10 on the day, including a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
Next up for the Warriors is another nationally ranked matchup as No. 4 Cowley College (KS) travels to Ottumwa for a premiere showdown at the IHCC Soccer Complex on October 4. Kick-off is set for 2:00 PM.
