NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA — A week after a huge jump in the USTFCCCA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Team Computer Rankings, the Central College men’s track and field regressed to the No. 22

Points in the National Team Computer Rankings are based off placement in the National Descending Order Lists. The higher an athlete sits on the list, the more points he or she adds to his or her team’s total. These points do not reflect placement or scoring at the NCAA Championships, but is to show the individuals and teams that have the best chances at scoring well at said meet.

Mark Fairley (senior, Dubuque) maintained his stranglehold on the top spot in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (8 minutes, 57.39 seconds) and added the No. 32 mark in the 5,000 meters (14:42.67) at the Drake Relays on Thursday night.

Central’s 4×400-meter relay team of Mitchell Yaw (junior, Orange City, MOC-Floyd Valley HS), Blake Morgan (senior, Story City, Roland-Story HS), Justin Wimbish (senior, Glendale, Ariz., Apollo HS) and Hunter Howe (senior, La Plata, Mo.) entered at No. 31 nationally with a time of 3:19.66.

Sophomore Will Daniels (Geneseo, Ill.) is No. 5 in the decathlon (6,673 points) and No. 15 in the high jump (6-8.75). Kyle Pape (junior, Dubuque, Wahlert Catholic HS) is No. 22 in the 800 meters (1:52.88).

In the regional rankings, Central dropped one spot to No. 3.

The Dutch are headed to the Fighting Scot Invitational in Monmouth, Illinois on Saturday.
