Mitterer, Decker Named Scholar-Athletes

Oskaloosa–Two William Penn men’s bowlers were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2018-2019 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes Friday.
Alex Mitterer (Jr., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Biology) topped the duo with a 3.75 Grade Point Average, while David Decker (Jr.., Peyton, Colo., Physical Education) had a 3.63 GPA entering the spring.
Both individuals are first-time recipients. A total of 31 men’s bowlers from within the NAIA were awarded the laurel.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
