MHP to host Business After Hours Thursday, Jan. 30
The Oskaloosa Area Chamber & Development Group announces that Mahaska Health Partnership will host a Business After Hours to welcome Family Practice Physician Dr. Lisa Ruckman on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The event will be in the Cedar Bluff Learning Center (entrance # 3) on the MHP Campus. The community is encouraged to join MHP, the Chamber Diplomats and members of the OACDG in this “meet & greet” event.
“We are very excited to bring Dr. Ruckman back to Mahaska County, where she will be providing primary care and obstetrical services at MHP,” Jay Christensen, MHP CEO said. “As a member of the DeBoef family and a North Mahaska graduate, we want to give the community a chance to welcome her home.”
Dr. Ruckman grew up in rural Mahaska County on the DeBoef family farm. Her parents, Harold and Betty DeBoef, still live in the area, along with two of her three siblings. In her role as a Family Practice Physician, Dr. Ruckman can treat patients of all ages for primary healthcare and acute care needs.
Dr. Ruckman’s addition to MHP’s Medical Staff brings the number of physicians delivering babies in the MHP Birthing Center to seven. They are: OB/GYN Specialist Dr. Jeffrey Fowler and Family Practice Physicians Drs. Shawn Richmond, Ed Hirl, Stephen Mineart, Bridget Shariat and Leigh Gilburn.
“We are excited to have seven physicians to support the obstetrical needs of Mahaska County,” Christensen said. “They are able to deliver in a state-of-the-art facility with many amenities that moms enjoy.”
