Melton, Caprini Win Academic All-District Honors

Oskaloosa–William Penn women’s volleyball players Jade Melton (Sr., Hallsville, Mo., Psychology) and Kaya Caprini (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn., Psychology) were honored for strong 2024 seasons in and out of the classroom as they earned academic all-district honors from College Sports Communicators.

Melton owned a 3.82 Grade Point Average entering the fall semester, while Caprini was at 3.61. The award is the first for both individuals.

Melton posted 178 kills (1.87 per set) this fall on a .144 attack percentage. She also managed 124 digs, 32 blocks, 13 aces, and 12 assists.

Caprini led the Statesmen in both digs (536, 4.32 per set) and aces (38). She also tallied 77 assists in 2024.

The award combines both athletic and academic achievements. To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been enrolled at the nominating institution for one year (transfers use grades from their previous institution), and have a 3.50 Grade Point Average. Additionally, individuals must compete in 90% of games or start in at least 66% of games.
