Marion County accident involves motorcycle

A Lovilla man was left injured and requiring transport by helicopter to Iowa Methodist in Des Moines after a Saturday, October 9 accident on Highway 5.
George Gilbert of Lovilla was northbound on Highway 5 out of Lovilla when he lost control on a curve. Gilbert left the roadway to the right striking a chevron road sign and coming to rest on the ditch embankment.
Responding officers reported possible alcohol as a cause of the accident, and charges are pending against Gilbert in the accident.
