Marie Sutton, 49, of Fremont died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at her home in Fremont. She was born Monday, July 11, 1966, in Iowa City, the daughter of Carroll and Grace McCoy Braaksma.

Following school, Marie worked several places including Mark’s Big Boy in Witchita, Kansas and Donna’s Corner Café in Oskaloosa.

On December 8, 2000, Marie was united in marriage to Randy Sutton in Hedrick.

She enjoyed watching movies and tv shows. She also liked NASCAR, Elvis Presley and watching football with Randy.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Sutton of Fremont; three sons: Wesley Reed of Newton, Aaron Sutton of Burlington, and Anthony Stanback of Fremont; a daughter, Dorothy Sutton of Fremont; two grandchildren: Daniel Hassett and Grace Marie Stanback; two sisters: Kimberly (& Ron) Powell of Eureka, Kansas and Anita (& Donald) Farr of Newton; and two brothers, Patrick and Billy Weter.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

As was her wish, Marie’s body has been cremated and no services or visitation is planned.
