Mahaska Health Partnership Offering Scholarship to Area Graduates

Mahaska Health Partnership

Mahaska County – Applications for college scholarships from Mahaska Health Partnership are available to high school seniors pursuing a career in a health-related field. The deadline for submitting applications is April 13.

According to MHP CEO Jay Christensen, $500 scholarships will be awarded to three students chosen by the MHP Board of Trustees. Applicants must be attending North Mahaska, Eddyville-Blakesburg or Oskaloosa schools. They must also be accepted to an accredited school leading to a health-related career.

“Mahaska Health Partnership recognizes a great need for the training of new healthcare professionals in our service area,” Christensen said. “We also want to continue recruiting capable, competent local employees.

“These scholarships are a way for MHP to both give back to our community and to foster the growth of healthcare as a profession. We are grateful for the opportunity to make healthcare personal by helping students continue their education in a field of service and caring.”

Applications are available through local schools or can be picked up at the hospital registration desk (entrance #1). Christensen said that while the final decision of scholarship winners is not based solely on financial need, it may be a determining factor if candidates are equal in other qualifications. Letters of recommendation must accompany the application and personal interviews may be requested for further clarification.
