Mahaska County Supervisors For July 18th, 2011

Mahaska County Board of Supervisors met in regular session July 18, 2011

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Supervisors met in regular session on Monday morning, July 18, in a meeting that turned out to be mostly reports from area agencies.

Miranda Johnson, Director of Mahaska County Agricultural and Rural Development, stated they will have a day when Governor Branstad will visit the Cargill complex in Eddyville, Iowa on August 2nd. Also noted was the discontinuation of the Town and County Banquet. She and others have not yet determined what will replace the decades old practice of mixing those from the county and city.

Also on the table was a Supplemental Agreement with Snyder & Associates for the Phase 1 portion (purpose and needs) of the Highway 63 Transportation Study.

Supplemental Agreement No. 1 is for Phase 1 of this work which includes identification of the Purpose and Need of transportation improvements along the U.S. 63 Corridor, from U.S. 163/63 South of Oskaloosa to U.S. 6 North of Interstate 80, in the East Central Iowa study area. This phase also includes defining the scope of work for the next phase of the process.
