On January 5th, 2018, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office received complaints of multiple crimes in close proximity to each other, the previous evening. Burglaries were reported at 2630 265th Street and 2897 260th Street. A vehicle was also reported stolen from 2691 Ventura Avenue, all within rural Mahaska County.

As a result of the investigation into these matters, Sheriff’s Officials have made two arrests. 31-year-old Jessee Dale Peska of 303 North Pleasant Street, in Delta, Iowa, and 25-year–old Colby Lee Finch of Drakesville, Iowa (street address unknown) were each charged with 2 counts of 3rd Degree Burglary and 1 count of Theft in the 2nd Degree. All charges are class D felonies.

This investigation was conducted with the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office, who were investigating these subjects for thefts and burglaries in Keokuk County as well. During this investigation, the above-mentioned stolen vehicle was recovered in Keokuk County, as well as several stolen items from the burglaries.

Peska and Finck are currently incarcerated in the Keokuk County Jail and will make their initial appearance in the Mahaska County District Court at a later date.
