The final day to register early and be eligible to vote for the December 3, 2013 Municipal Runoff Election in Barnes City and Beacon is Friday, November 22nd, by 5:00 P.M.
Early registration can be completed by mail if voter registration application is postmarked no later than Monday, November 18th. After November 18th through November 22nd, all registrations must be delivered to the Election Office.
Voters may also cast absentee ballots during office hours at the Election Office, 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday. Absentee ballots can also be cast on Tuesday, December 3rd from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., after that time, voters will need to vote at the polls beginning at Noon for Barnes City and Beacon. Polls close at 8:00 P.M. Contact the Auditor’s Office for when the absentee ballots are available.

Absentee ballots for the December 3, 2013 City Runoff Election in Barnes City and Beacon will be available in the Mahaska County Auditor’s Office or by mail. Contact the Auditor’s Office (641-673-7148) for availability.
Absentee ballots may be cast in the Auditor’s Office, 1st Floor of the Court House, during office hours, from 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Since the polls do not open until Noon on election day, voters can vote absentee at the Auditor’s Office on Tuesday, December 3rd from 8 -11 A.M.
Absentee ballots to be mailed must be requested by using an Official Absentee Ballot Request Form. These can be obtained in the Auditor’s Office or on line at
www.sos.state.ia.us/elections. The last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is Wednesday, November 27th by 5 P.M. Ballots must be postmarked by December 2nd at midnight, or returned to the Election Office by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3rd.
