Locals enjoy Lacey Recreation Complex
Report from Sherry Vavra, Executive Director of MCRF: “On any given night you can come to the Lacey Recreation Complex in Oskaloosa and see any number of events happening at once. Today, Thursday evening, March 31st, I am here and watching seven youth from Oskaloosa who came to the complex just to play a game of soccer. Across the street I can see the Little League and ASA practicing for their upcoming seasons. On the opposite fields from the local soccer game I am watching a coaches clinic on one field, youth practice on another and WPU boys practice soccer for their Spring travel team. It is great to see the complex used by the community! This is what the community complex is all about! Landon Findley and Felix Lopez were the last of the seven young men to leave the game field in the just for fun soccer game. “We grew up playing league [soccer],” said Landon. “I was part of the first team in High School soccer in Oskaloosa back in 2004.” They still like top play just for fun with their friends.
