Larry was recovering from a stroke when he passed away unexpectedly at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa. He was 77 years, 8 months and 9 days of age.
Larry Lee Reinwand, son of Stacey and Louise Evans Reinwand, was born November 2, 1934 in Sigourney, Iowa. Larry was raised on a farm near Fremont, IA and was a 1953 graduate of Fremont High School. Except for his service with the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1960, Larry farmed his entire life near Fremont. In 2003 he retired, but continued to assist the Brink family in their farming operation. Larry attended the Good News Chapel. He was a hobbyist blacksmith and enjoyed working in his metal workshop.
Larry is survived by a sister, Martha Maurine Reinwand of Council Bluffs, Iowa and two nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a nephew.
Memorials may be made to the Good News Chapel.
Visitation: will begin at 10 a.m., Friday morning, July 13, 2012 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 5 – 7 p.m. to greet visitors.
Graveside Service: 9:30 a.m., Saturday morning, July 14, 2012 at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Family and Friends may gather at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel on Saturday by 9:15 a.m. to form a procession to the cemetery.
Interment: Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
