Kimberly Edgington, 43, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
Kimberly was born September 7, 1969, at Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie Gene and Helen E. Chandler Edgington. She graduated from the Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1987. Following graduation she went to work at Siesta Park until they closed. Later she worked at Pleasant Park, now Crystal Heights Care Center. She also had worked at Casey’s General Store on South Market for a year. Kim enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles; and baking cookies and candy at Christmas time. She was a member of Omega Church, and helped with childrens church. Her family was her everything.
Her family includes her mother, Helen Edgington of Oskaloosa; two daughters: Belinda Edgington and Miranda Messamaker, both of Oskaloosa; a son, (William) Cody Messamaker, Oskaloosa; a granddaughter: Taylor Rose Burk; four brothers: Charles (& Lisa) Nine of Eagle Grove, Daryl Nine of Russell, Frank (& Lisa) Nine of Sumter, South Carolina, and Leslie Edgington of Russell; a sister: Katherine Edgington of Oskaloosa; her companion, Bill Messamaker; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Patrick Nine.
As was her wish, she has been cremated.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Omega Church (the old Jefferson Elementary School) with the Reverend Dave Brown officiating.
Burial of the cremated remains will follow in Old White Cemetery at Oskaloosa.
Visitation with the family will be at the Bates Funeral Chapel on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m.
A memorial has been established in her name.
