Kelly Selected for First MCC Accolade

William Penn University Athletics

Oskaloosa–Angelo Kelly (Fr., Ottumwa, Iowa, Physical Education) guided the Statesmen soccer team to its first league victory, and for his efforts, he was named Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week today.

A first-time honoree, Kelly scored three times last week, including twice in William Penn’s 3-2 double-overtime win against Viterbo Saturday. His second goal forced overtime. It was the first time this year a Statesmen player scored multiple times.

For the year, Kelly is pacing the offense with four goals and two assists.

It is the third honor for the program (5-6) in 2012 and is the first offensive award for the navy and gold since October 2010.
