Jim Baugh, 54, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Jimmy Edward Baugh, son of Jimmie Otis and Elaine Kay (Steinfeldt) Baugh, was born September 23, 1967, in Odessa, Texas.
When Jim was a child, his family moved to Eldora, Iowa, where he received his education.
After finishing school, he went to work operating heavy equipment, most recently in the Marshalltown/Newton area. He moved to Oskaloosa in 2017.
Jim was a Ford man; he and his sons and grandsons enjoyed racing stock cars and derby cars on many weekends and he enjoyed camping with his grandchildren. Jim collected guns, and he enjoyed target practice. He also enjoyed woodworking and watching U-Tube videos. He attended the First Assembly of God Church.
His family includes his wife, Diane Thomas-Baugh of Oskaloosa; a son, Kevin Schaper of Des Moines; and two daughters: Angela Baugh (& boyfriend, Dan Garrett) of Des Moines and Karri Baugh of Des Moines; two granddaughters: Jayme and Jenna Howard; his “other children”: James (& Cassie) Thomas of Beacon, Shannon Kridelbaugh of Pella, Ricky Kridelbaugh of Oskaloosa, Echo Kridelbaugh (& boyfriend, Lance Baker) of Oskaloosa, Shane (& Shari) Kridelbaugh of Harvey, Treva (& Dave) Sizemore of Mt. Grove, MO, and Mary Alice (& Ted) Greene of Clinton, IA; 32 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Scott Maley of Knoxville, IA; and sisters, Vicki (& Brian) Lempke of Goldberg, NC and Teri (& Chris) Kinney of Iowa Falls.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Baugh; grandparents: Leo Edward Carl and Shalotta Steinfeldt and Lee and Anna Dee Huffman; and his “other children”: Jerry D. Thomas and Roger Thomas.
Funeral services for Jim will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Mike Dotson officiating.
The burial will be in Beacon Cemetery.
The family will greet visitors from 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Langkamp Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
