Jeremy Diers, 39, of Sully and formerly of Ottumwa, passed away at his home in Sully on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Jeremy Allen Diers, son of Norman and Lynelle (Haden) Diers, was born June 16, 1982, in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Jeremy was a graduate of Panorama High School in 2001.

Jeremy married Christy Cummings on October 24, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa.

Jeremy served as a volunteer firefighter for the Sully Fire Department and the Sandy Hill Fire Department in Leesville, LA.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he loved tinkering with and fixing anything mechanical. He was a member of Sully Community Church, where he served as an usher. His children were the highlight of his life; he cherished every moment of playing with them.

His family includes his wife, Christy of Sully; children: Noah and Brianna, at home in Sully; parents, Norman and Lynelle Diers of Ottumwa; siblings: Jarrod (& Ashley) Diers of Ottumwa, Jolyn (& Nick) Hartson of Pella, and Alan Brady of Ottumwa; several nieces and nephews; and his maternal grandparents: Charles and Roxie Haden.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Eugene and Marilyn Diers.

The family will greet friends and family from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Sully Community Church.
A private family funeral service will be held.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Diers Children’s College Fund.
