Indian Harriers compete at Centerville
The Osky cross country teams competed at Centerville on Tuesday with both high school and middle school teams running. “It was a great night for running and we had some great individual performances. Brooke was again our top performer, finishing in 7th place. Kelsey Roquet ran a personal best time of 17:00 to finish 20th. She has had a great first season and I am very excited about her potential. The other varsity girls also ran well, enabling the team to finish in 6th place. The JV girls were outstanding tonight and are putting some heat on some of the varsity spots. It is good to have competition for team positions, that makes the whole team better. I think we are peaking at the right time, as the conference meet is on Monday.”
The boys teams continued to show improvement in their times tonight. “Although we didn’t score well as a team, we are getting better and the times of the kids are getting faster. Alex Hyland is having a good season for us and ran another season nest time tonight. Caden Smith is one of our seniors who has run for us since middle school and he has continued to improve and is having a good senior season. Our younger runners are getting valuable experience this year that should past off in future seasons.” Coach Comfort said
The middle school boys continued their tough running placing 4 runners on the top 10. Skylar Dejong continued his winning streak with another win. “This group has a chance to be a good team before they are done. On the girls side, Rachel Adams and Payton Van Waardhuizen were the top finishers. Our middle school kids have made great improvement this year and I think they will have a strong showing at the conference meet on Monday.” Comfort also said.
The Indians will run at their conference meet in Knoxville this Monday.
