Group Helps Coordinate Summer VBS

Joan Boer, Melissa VanDonselaar, Troy Renter, Kathy Rothfus and Lisa Vohoska help make up the small group of Children's Ministry Network

Oskaloosa, Iowa – A small group of volunteers work to make sure local kids enjoy a summer of Vacation Bible School.

The Children’s Ministry Network is a group that consists of people involved in the children’s ministry in their respective churches. The group meets once a month, having done so for around 11 years so far.

They meet to discuss all manners of issues in regards to children’s ministry such as nursery policies and training, websites and social networks and of course helping to coordinate a staple of summer Vacation Bible School.

Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings. The meetings typically are held the second Thursday of the month, inside Smokey Row at 12:30, but is subject to change on occasion.

The group as a whole holds an All-Church free pool party at Edmundson, a Bible Quiz at the Southern Iowa Fair and, of course, helps with Vacation Bible Schools. The group also hosts an all-church lock-in for third, fourth and fifth graders.
