GRINNELL’S TYLER NAMED TO D-III CROSS COUNTRY ALL-ACADEMIC SQUAD

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College cross country runner Ben Tyler ’14 has been named to the 2011 NCAA Division III Men’s All-Academic Team released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Tyler is a two-time All-Midwest Conference performer and took runner-up honors in the league meet last fall. He later placed 23rd at the Central Region Meet to earn All-Region honors.

Tyler’s season-best time of 25:17 ranks 10th all-time at Grinnell.

A total of 141 student-athletes represent the 80 institutions that compose the All-Academic Team. To qualify, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
