GRINNELL’S McCABE NAMED MWC FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

Grinnell College Athletics

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College quarterback Mike McCabe ’13 has been named the Midwest Conference Football Offensive Performer of the Week.

McCabe, a 6-2, 175-pound junior quarterback from Port Washington, N.Y. (Paul D. Schreiber), had one of the top offensive performances in Pioneer history during Saturday’s 49-34 victory over Lake Forest College. He had a hand in all seven Grinnell touchdowns, just one shy of the school record of eight established by Troy Dougherty in 1997.

McCabe passed for five scores, third-best in school history, and ran for two more as Grinnell scored the most points in a game since the 2001 season. He finished 26-of-37 through the air for 320 yards and no interceptions.

The MWC Defensive Performer of the Week is Monmouth College’s Adam Hoste and the Special Teams Performer of the Week is Carroll University’s Tyler Raymaker.
