Free Positive Rock and Rap Music Festival About to Shake Up Southeast Iowa

Promiseland Music Festival

Ottumwa, IA— July 6, 2012
Promise Land Fest, the first of its kind in Southeast Iowa, is making a big noise in 2012 with a free 3 day music festival. Performing are 18 different modern rock bands and rap artists of various styles, with some having Billboard charting radio and video hits.

Starting on Friday, July 27 at 6:00 PM this festival goes all day Saturday and ends on Sunday, July 29 at 6:30 PM and is located at Promiseland Campgrounds, 15314 Hwy 63 North, just 6 miles north of Bloomfield, Iowa.

Some of the bands shaking Southeast Iowa during this festival include nationally known recording artists, Project 86, from California; Manic Drive from Canada, and Nine Lashes from Alabama. These bands have toured and shared the stage with P.O.D., Switchfoot, Skillet, Pillar, Stryper, Linkin Park, and Queensryche, just to name a few, but soon they are heading for Southeast Iowa.

“There are so many negative things happening around us in this world today, and so many people disheartened and struggling in this economy” says Nathan Grooms, founder of Promise Land Fest. “I just thought how amazing would it be to generously offer a positive, energetic, family-friendly event which everyone could afford and enjoy. It’s free admission to see some awesome bands that most other festivals and venues around the nation charge for. I mean who can’t afford free?”
While Promise Land Fest is primarily a music festival it is open to all ages, and there will be more than just music at this event. Briefly speaking throughout this festival will be six motivational guest speakers; as well as fun activities for those who bring grade-school aged kids, with “Dizzy” the Clown, Barnyard Billy, and Firehouse Kidz. Plus there will be other fun activities open to all ages like fishing, hiking, volleyball, horse shoes, and affordable camping for anyone who wants to turn this into a low-cost fun vacation and more.

“To my knowledge, nobody in Southeastern Iowa has ever done anything quite like this before,” says Grooms. “My main goal is simple. I want this to be an exciting weekend that reaches out and enriches our surrounding communities in a unique, brand new way. My invitation to come is open to everyone.”
