FFA Members Awarded with Greenhand and Chapter Degrees

Oskaloosa FFA members are awarded Greenhand Degrees and Chapter Degrees

Oskaloosa, Iowa- The Oskaloosa High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter held their Chili-Cheese Soup Supper in the Oskaloosa High School cafeteria Friday evening. The event also included the Greenhand Degree and Chapter Degree recipient inductions. After eating, the event was called to order by FFA President Tyler Ryun. Ryun and other FFA officers led the opening ceremonies.

Next came the Greenhand Degrees. A Greenhand degree is one of three degrees that can be given out at the local chapter level. It is the second highest degree a local chapter can give to a member. Members must be specific guidelines as outlined the in FFA constitution to receive a Greenhand Degree.

13 members were recipients of the Greenhand Degree. The following members received a degree: Jordan Bemis, Chelsi Craig, Austin Dykstra, Bobbi Fogle, Alexis Fuller, Alex Grubbs, Ashleigh Headley, Kodi Kingery, Dalton Kingery, Zac Randou, Aaleigha Rhoades, Abby Upah, and Kyle Vinton.

The next degree presented was the Chapter Degree. The Chapter degree is the highest degree that can be presented by a local chapter. The FFA Constitution has specific guidelines that must be met in order for a person to receive the Chapter degree. Those guidelines include having already received the Greenhand Degree.

12 members received the Chapter Degree. The following members were recipients of the degree: Megan Adams, Cassady Bennett, Kenzie Gunter, Andria Jochims, Brittany McQueen, Kelsey Roquet, Leslie Roquet, Maddison Stewart, Kelsie Tomlin, Kylee VanDusseldorp, Joe VerSteegh, and Kaila Wheeldon.
