The Family Detective: Genealogy Stories

Oskaloosa Community School

George Daily Auditorium

OSKALOOSA, IA — The George Daily Auditorium is thrilled to partner with the Mahaska County Historical Society to host their Quarterly Meeting and Potluck Dinner on Monday, February 19. You don’t need to be a Historical Society member to attend this free event at the Auditorium.

The potluck begins at 6 p.m. with a memorial honoring Historical Society members at 6:45 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., Cindy Godlove of the Oskaloosa Public Library will moderate “The Family Detective: Genealogy Stories” with four expert panelists: Janet Braden with 30+ years of genealogy experience and a Boone family connection; Georgetta Leak, a professional Genealogist; Herbert Strasser, who researches the history of families who have owned and lived on his farmland; and Grant Wells, a Mayflower Society member. After the panel, there will be breakout groups so you can talk about your own family stories. Sarah Kargol of the Oskaloosa Art Center will have a craft project for kids so bring your family for a night of history fun!

Everyone is welcome to attend some or all of the events. For questions or more information, call the Auditorium office at 641-672-0799.
