Oskaloosa–Alex Edwards (Sr., Knoxville, Iowa, Secondary Education) and Cornelius McCastle (So., McKinney, Texas, Industrial Technology) headlined a terrific start to the 2014-2015 indoor season for William Penn and their efforts did not go unnoticed as the Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week laurels were announced Monday.

Edwards was named Track athlete for the seventh time in his career (fifth time for indoors) and McCastle claimed the inaugural Field accolade (third of his career).

Edwards won the 600-meter run competition in an ‘A’ standard time of 1:20.58. It is the fifth-straight season in which he has qualified for nationals, including earning All-American status in the 600 last year.

McCastle did not qualify, but had huge showings with gold in the triple jump at 44-8.25 and silver in the high jump at 6-4.75.
