Edna Joan Miller, 96, formerly of North English and Grinnell, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the English Valley Care Center. Edna Joan Miller was born on November 24, 1927 to Albert and Edna J. Courtney Pontzius near Winfield.

Edna attended and graduated from Winfield High School in 1946.

Edna was united in marriage to Glenn Miller in 1948 after his return from the service at Cairo, Iowa. She became a mother to JoGlenna and was a devoted farm wife.

Edna worked at the Williamsburg Care Center and the County Home as an aide.

Edna attended Pleasant Grove Church near Millersburg. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, sewing and reading.

Edna is survived by her daughter, JoGlenna (Ron Halblom) Goodman of Homosassa, FL; her grandchildren, Ryan (Anita) Goodman of Taylor, S.C., Renee (John) Stadnick of Huntsville, TX., James Halblom of Grinnell and Joyce Halblom of Grinnell; four great grandchildren, Elaina Goodman, Zachary Goodman, Emma Stadnick, Ava Stadnick, Noah Stadnick and Jonah Stadnick; her siblings, Bonnie (Ivan) Jern, Alfredo, GA., and Patrick Pontzius of Bradenton, FL., along with many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Miller; her brothers, James Pontzius, Forrest Pontzius, Leland Pontzius, Michael Pontzius and Monte Pontius; and her son-in-law, Gene Goodman.

Graveside services will be held in the Millersburg Cemetery at a later date.
