EBF Girls Track Shines at Home Meet with Strong Performances Across the Board

Eddyville, Iowa – April 17, 2025

The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (EBF) Girls Track and Field team put together a commanding performance on Thursday, April 17, earning first place at their home meet with an impressive team score of 154 points.

The Rockets soared past the competition, outpacing North Mahaska (104 points), Fairfield (98 points), Chariton (97 points), and several other regional programs.

Among the standout performances, the Sprint Medley Relay team, consisting of Hollie Roberts, Molly Shafer, Lacey Taylor, and Kate Shafer, captured second place with a time of 1:53.93.

In individual events:

Novalee Jackson competed fiercely in the 3000 meters, securing a 6th-place finish with a time of 14:05.96.

In the 4×800 relay, Kaitlynn Glenn, Sadie Jager, Lillie Lee, and Kenzie Lions combined for a strong 3rd-place showing, clocking 12:09.62.

The Shuttle Hurdle Relay squad, featuring Lanie Batterson, Addy Covert, Adison Glosser, and Chloe Lyon, also brought home 3rd place with a time of 1:21.74.

The 100-meter dash proved competitive, with Georgia Smith finishing 6th at 15.14 seconds, and Izzy Armstrong closely behind at 15.49 seconds. Kylie Simpson rounded out EBF’s strong sprinting showing with a 7th-place finish at 15.20 seconds.

JV runners also made their presence felt, with strong performances in the Sprint Medley Relay, thanks to Morgan, Kylie, Adison, and Gracie.

Other notable finishes included:

Morgan Rea (16.49 seconds) in the 100 meters,

Several top-three finishes across relay and hurdle events,

And consistent depth across the roster, helping to secure the overall team victory.
