E/B Student Shine at Solo Contest

On Saturday April 2nd, Eddyville Blakesburg High School hosted State Solo and Ensemble Contest. The E/B students earned 12 Division I Ratings and 6 Division II ratings. Those students earning division I ratings (superior) were: Riley Arnold; alto sax solo, Jessica Jones, Flute & Piccolo solos, Kai Ishida; marimba solo, Anna Haselhuhn; trumpet solo, Brooke Lunsford; alto sax solo, Samantha Claypool; alto sax solo, Megan Street; flute solo, Clarinet & Flute Duet; Neisha Van Gorp & Shelby Dunwoody, Saxophone trio: Brooke Lunsford, Riley Arnold, and Jacob Lane, Flute Trio; Jessica Jones, Megan Street, & Kelly Lane, and Brooke Lunsford; vocal solo.

Students receiving Division II ratings (excellent) were: Kai Ishida; tympani solo, Kelly Lane; flute solo, Riley Arnold; snare drum solo, Paula Morrison; vocal solo, Aislynn Stockdall, vocal solo, and Vocal Sextet; Jessica Bay, Anna Haselhuhn, Morgan Kurimski, Morgan Lee, Courtney Lopez and Paula Morrison.

Also performing vocal solos or duets were: Morgan Kurimski, Kindra Mallonee, Kai Ishida, Laynie Mahan, Ocelia Zimmerman, and Kristiina Carpenter.
