Doris Kadel, 93 of Montezuma passed away Friday morning, July 16, 2021 at the Montezuma Specialty Care in Montezuma.
Doris Nadine Kadel, the daughter of Harrel and Velma (Rice) Gordon, was born on a farm near Rothville, Missouri on September 5, 1927.

On March 13, 1948, she was united in marriage to Dr. Merl Kadel. To this marriage was born a son, Stephen, and twin daughters, Jean and Joan.

Doris attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Iowa City and worked many years as a nursing assistant to an oral surgeon in the town of Hastings, Nebraska.

Doris belonged to two bridge clubs and was a member of Montezuma United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women for many years. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Montezuma Country Club where she enjoyed playing in many tournaments.

Doris passed away Friday night, July 16, 2021 at the Montezuma Specialty Care Nursing Home.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Kadel of Goldendale, Washington; her daughters: Joan (& Jack) Dietz of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Jean (& Claiborne) Skinner of Los Lunas, New Mexico; two grandsons: Tristan Lueking of Petersburg, Virginia and Stuart Kershaw of Portland, Oregon; a granddaughter, Georgia (& Brent) De Ronde of Oskaloosa; four great grandchildren: Dean, Pippa, Lake and Jude De Ronde; her niece, Shelley (& Steve) Tate of Chilicothe, Missouri; her nephew, Jon Findley of Indianapolis, Indiana; two great nieces: Kristin (& Matt) Rennells and Erin Steffen; a great nephew, Michael Tate; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harrel and Velma Gordon; her husband, Dr. Merl Kadel; her brother, Howard Gordon; and her sister Helen (& Dale) Findley.

Memorial services will begin at 10:30 am Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the Montezuma United Methodist Church.
Burial will be held in the Friends Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
A visitation/reception will immediately follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma United Methodist Church. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
