Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell
Interment: following the service on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell

Donna was born on November 14, 1932 in Grinnell, Iowa to Arthur Van Draska and Eleanor Petersen. She was raised in Grinnell and she graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1952.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Meldrem on September 6, 1952 in Grinnell. The couple lived in Grinnell all of their lives and Donna was employed at the Longhorn Restaurant and Davis Elementary School. Her enjoyments were traveling, going for walks, solving puzzles, gardening and tending to her flowers.

Donna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Meldrem of Grinnell; Steve Meldrem of Grinnell, Debra (Mike) Dvorak of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Lonnie Meldrem of Grinnell and Wade Meldrem of Grinnell; seven grandchildren, Kelsy Bagron, Krysten Bagron, Katie Ferneau, Kayla Robison, Matthew Meldrem, Dillon Meldrem, and Alissa Meldrem; five great grandchildren, Ashton Hale, Gavin Bagron, Ayden Bagron, Landon Ferneau, and Jacob Robertson; and her siblings, Ruth (Jim) Waller of Mesquite, Texas, Shirley (Loy) Frasier of Mineola, Texas, Helen O’Brien of Huntington Beach, California, and Jim (Sandy) Van Draska of Grinnell.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Richard and Dale Van Draska.
