Crystal Gladys Stansberry, age 70, of Oskaloosa, IA, formerly of Albia, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at her home in Oskaloosa. Crystal was born on April 4, 1951, at the hospital in Chariton, IA, to Edwin Francis and Hazel (Lamb) Wade.

Crystal grew up attending school in Albia, graduating with the Class of 1969. Crystal later attended Indian Hills Community College for the Machine Technology program.

In 1981, Crystal was united in marriage to John Stansberry Sr. in Ottumwa.

Crystal worked at Chamberlains in Albia before going to work at Clow Valve Company in Oskaloosa. She then went to work at Vermeer for 23 years. Crystal most recently worked at Monroe County Professional Management in Albia.

Crystal enjoyed reading and going to thrift shops and casinos. She never knew a stranger and loved visiting with others and unwinding with friends over a beer. Crystal’s true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Crystal is survived by 3 children: John (& Karyn) Stansberry Jr. of Gillette, WY, Tiffany (& Zach) Randall of Newton, IA, and Waylon (& Nikki) Hutt of Lovilia, IA; 11 grandchildren: Caleb, Zachary, Quintin, Gabrielle, Makayla, Zachlyn, Jack, Joel, Sam, Austin, and Melanie; 3 siblings: Sandra Wade, Jim Wade, and Tamie (& Cameron) Watson; and her good friends, Rhonda Bonnett and Phyllis Whicker. Crystal is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Hazel Wade; and 2 siblings, Jack Wade and Arlene Riessen.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Crystal’s family present throughout to greet family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia.
Per Crystal’s wishes, her body will cremated following services and a private graveside service will be held at Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa at a later date.

An open memorial has been established to the family.
