Commission Votes On No Parking Zone

Oskaloosa Planning and Zoning Commission for April 11, 2012

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Planning and Zoning Commission gained R.D. Keep, as the newest member of the commission, after he was appointed to fill one of three open seats, but the commission still finds themselves facing a lack of members.

Wednesday found the commission taking on two agenda items. The first was to consider a request to establish a no parking zone along the south side of E Ave East between North 3rd and North 4th St.

On a 5-0 vote, the commission voted to place the no parking zone on the north side of the street at the recommendation of residents in the neighborhood.

The second item was to consider a request to amend the zoning ordinance of the City of Oskaloosa, Iowa by rezoning the properties located on 304 North 1st Street, 310 North 1st Street and 305 North 2nd Street from R-2, Urban Family Residential District to UC, Urban Corridor District.

Upon review, the commission vote 5-0 for the zoning change because those properties already adjoin other Urban Corridor properties.

If your interested in being a commission member, you can contact the City of Oskaloosa for further details about not only this commission but many others that are available.
