City Council approves 2010 fiscal year budget

Oskaloosa Iowa City Council Chambers

At its meeting this evening, the Oskaloosa City Council approved its 2010 fiscal year budget. Richard Atterbury of Martens & Company reported that overall the city had a good year. Overall, accounts were about 9.35% this year. Capital improvement was reported being down a fair amount this year. Atterbury said this was as a result of the city’s participation in the 10% Capital Improvement Plan. The money pledged to this program was used for capital improvements plans. Atterbury said he had nothing negative to report to the city and that the City was in good solid financial condition. In other action, the city council:

  • Approved a resolution ordering publication of a notice of hearing for bidders on the northwest sanitary sewer project.
  • Approved a resolution of support for the Oskaloosa Downtown Development group for enterprise zone benefits to be used for the Trolley Place Project
