Cheryl passed away peacefully Saturday morning at the MHP Serenity House in Oskaloosa at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 8 days.

Cheryl C. Davis, daughter of Harold Thomas and Freda Fessler Littlejohn, was born February 10, 1941, in Oskaloosa. She was a 1959 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. She married Richard Davis February 14, 1960 at the Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa. They made their home in Oskaloosa and Cheryl worked as a teller with Iowa Trust Bank. She later went to work at Iowa Power and Light Company (now Mid-American Energy) doing clerical work. She retired from there in 2003 after 17 years. Cheryl and Dick and their sons enjoyed camping for many years; Branson was one of their favorite destinations. They belonged to the Mahaska Traveling Chiefs camping club, where they made many life-long friends. Cheryl was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Mahaska Hospice Auxiliary, she volunteered for both in many capacities. She was also a member of the Central United Methodist Church.

Her family includes her husband, Richard of Oskaloosa; her son, Mike, also of Oskaloosa.

Besides her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by a son, Craig, on November 2, 2011.

Memorial contributions may be made to the MHP Serenity House.

Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday morning, August 22, 2012 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Reverend Tom Boomershine officiating.
Visitation: Will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday morning, August 21, 2012 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 5 – 7 p.m. to greet visitors.
Interment: Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
