Central gets men’s tennis win at Buena Vista
STORM LAKE—Bringing an early conclusion to the regular season, the Central College men’s tennis team posted a 7-2 victory at Buena Vista Saturday.
Dan Bowser (senior, Fort Dodge) and Seth Harris (junior, Waverly, Neb.) won twice, claiming Nos. 1 and 2 singles respectively after pairing together for an 8-5 No. 1 doubles victory. Bryn Boswell (sophomore, Pella) also recorded two wins, taking No. 3 singles and teaming with Jacob Dreyer (senior, Cedar Falls) to capture No. 2 doubles, 8-5.
Once Central secured the win, underclassmen entered the lineup to gain more experience. Zane Hendricks (freshman, Fort Dodge) snagged a second-set tiebreaker to win at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) and Hendricks and Erik Bay (freshman, Decorah) paired at No. 3 doubles for an 8-6 win.
The Dutch (9-12) are off until the start of the Iowa Conference tournament at Iowa City May 6-7.
