Central 12th in track and field rankings
PELLA—Central College is 12th in the third week of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s men’s indoor track and field power rankings.
The Dutch dropped one spot from last week’s rankings. Defending national champion North Central (Ill.) maintained its hold on the No. 1 spot while Iowa Conference foe Wartburg College slipped seven notches to 17th.
Teams are scored using a points system that objectively measures the top performances across the country in each event. The rankings for the first three weeks rely on performances from the previous season in addition to recent performances.
Central tackles the Darren Young Classic Saturday at Grinnell.
