Boys Golf Has Best Round As A Team

Oskaloosa Head Coach Bret Foster said, “The boys had their best round as a team of the year today and finished in 5th place. The placing is disappointing but the score is not. We were only 3 shots out of second place. It’s just a tough conference and we won the dual portion of the conference so that is a great accomplishment. Indianola won this tournament and they were 3rd at the 4A tournament last fall. The other teams that finished ahead of us all have the potential to be at the 3A state tournament later this month.”

“We had 2 players earn All-Conference honors, Spencer Tucker and Austin Hafner. Spencer joined some rare company in being All-Conference all 4 years of his career (and he was also a 2-time champion.) Spencer has had an amazing career! Austin made All-Conference for the first time and will look to do it again next year!”

“As a team we have shown improvement in almost every competition we entered and hopefully we can continue that trend. As a team, I’m very happy with how we are progressing.”

“The boys will return to Grinnell on Monday for the Grinnell Invite and then sectionals is next Thursday in Burlington.”
