“Blue Christmas” Worship Service

Oskaloosa, Iowa – St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ invites the community to its annual “Blue Christmas” service to be held on Monday, December 19 at 5:30 p.m.

We offer this non-denominational worship service for all those for whom holiday celebrations are difficult because of the death of a loved one, depression, the end of a relationship, unhappy family situations or for anyone who struggles with the traditional holiday dazzle and cheer.

Focusing on the comfort that God offers during dark times, the service has a quiet, somber, yet hopeful mood. It includes time for silent meditation and prayer, and a time for people to light candles to remember a loved one or to mark a significant event.
