Bandy Earns Second Defensive POW

William Penn University Athletics

Oskaloosa–For the second time in the first three weeks of the awards season, Statesmen goalkeeper Mason Bandy (So., Calgary, Alberta, St. Francis HS) was named Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday.

Bandy helped William Penn (3-3) to a pair of wins over Mount Marty (S.D.) and Harris-Stowe State (Mo.) last weekend at its own Classic.

The sophomore, who was also the league recipient back on August 27, gave up only one goal in 172 minutes of action. He recorded seven saves and dropped his Goals Against Average from 1.75 to 1.35.

For the year, Bandy is 3-3 with 27 saves, one shutout, and one shared shutout. In four of his team’s six contests, he has allowed one or fewer scores.
