Oskaloosa–John Altieri (Fr., Warwick, R.I., Sociology) was nearly flawless in league competition this year, and for his efforts he collected a 2015-2016 all-Heart of America Athletic Conference nod Friday.

The freshman was named a second-team all-Heart selection at 125 pounds as he went 4-1 in five Heart dual meets. A total of 28 individuals were honored with Riley Boomer of Missouri Valley being named Heart Wrestler of the Year and Nick Mitchell of Grand View receiving Heart Coach of the Year laurels.

Altieri pinned one foe, claimed two wins via decision, and received a forfeit for his fourth victory. His lone setback came against first-teamer Tristan Bundy of Grand View.

Awards are determined by the results from the Heart dual meets; in order to be considered, a wrestler must compete at that weight in at least three of the five meets.
