United Way Names Timothy Gibson as New Executive Director
OSKALOOSA, IA. – The United Way of Mahaska County Board of Directors has selected Timothy Gibson as the new Executive Director for the agency. Gibson, a Mahaska County resident, brings extensive knowledge in community outreach, marketing, and volunteer management, serving the past year and a half as the Community Impact Coordinator at UWMC.
Effective immediately, he will lead United Way’s efforts to empower our communities by promoting education, encouraging healthy living, and strengthening financial stability.
Gibson, 25, has a proven record of success in partnership building, leadership, and volunteer management. In addition to his work as the Community Impact Coordinator, he has an additional five years’ experience in staff development, communication training, and sales management. He is currently the Head Wrestling Cheer Coach at Oskaloosa High School, an active Rotary member in Oskaloosa, and is a Mahaska Young Professionals board member.
United Way Board President Steve Burnett said the agency wanted to find a leader who could build upon the success and programs already in place. “After searching and interviewing candidates, we believe Timothy Gibson has the experience and skills necessary to lead the agency, work effectively with community partners and supporters, drive measurable impact, and build partnerships to ensure the success of programs like the recent Back-to-School Fair.”
Gibson is already familiar face to many in Mahaska County. A graduate of Oskaloosa High School, he still attends sporting events and is always eager to hear the pride of Oskaloosa, The Marching Indians and actively plays in the Oskaloosa City Band.
“I look forward to serving a community that is willing to raise a hand and speak up for those who can’t,” said Gibson. “I am truly honored to have been selected to play a leading role in growing Mahaska County,” he continued. “I look forward to applying community engagement skills to better serve United Way’s vision to Improve lives for a better tomorrow.”
