Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s golf team narrowly missed qualifying for its first trip to nationals as the NAIA’s final regular season top 25 poll was released Thursday.

William Penn is 27th with 79 points, trailing only Midwest Collegiate Conference champion Grand View at #23. The navy and gold were just seven spots out of claiming the final at-large bid to the NAIA National Championships in two weeks.

SCAD Savannah (Ga.) remains #1 with 455 points and ten first-place votes. Oklahoma City is a very close second with 451 points and four first-place votes. William Woods (Mo.), with two votes, and British Columbia, with the final vote, are third and fourth, while Lubbock Christian (Texas) rounds out the top five.

William Penn won five events and recorded six other runner-up finishes during the 2012-2013 season.
