Loebsack Announces More Than $480,000 in Funding For Airports in Osceola, Oskaloosa

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack announced today that municipal airports in Osceola and Oskaloosa have received two grants in total of $483,930 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). These funds will be used to make improvements at each airport. Specific of the grants are below.

“Our local airports play a critical role in allowing our communities to grow, as well as fuel additional economic development in the region,” said Loebsack. “I am pleased that the Osceola and Oskaloosa Municipal Airports are receiving these competitive grants, which will help fund much needed improvements and allow the airports to continue functioning safely and effectively.”

Osceola Municipal Airport – $270,630 for the construction of a hangar building to assist the airport to be as self-sustaining as possible by generating revenue.

Oskaloosa Municipal Airport – $213,300 to improve airport drainage and eliminate ponding on the airfield surfaces.
