Mahaska Health Partnership Celebrates Nurses Week

MAHASKA COUNTY – In acknowledgement of Nurses Week, May 6 through 12, Mahaska Health Partnership would like to recognize the Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Registered Nurses (RN), Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (P/MHNP), Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) that are making healthcare personal at MHP.
According to the American Nurses Association (ANA), nursing is a profession described as an art and a science. Nurses play many roles, from caregiver and educator to researcher and advocate. The ultimate goal of a nurse is to return a patient to the best quality of life possible.
“Our nurses are dedicated and committed to making healthcare personal for our patients,” explained MHP Chief Nursing Officer Darlene Keuning. “They take the time to ensure patients have the best possible experience at MHP during sometimes difficult times.”
During Nurses Week, nurses all over the country are being saluted for their role in meeting the healthcare needs of the American people. The ANA is celebrating Nurses Week by recognizing the quality and innovation nurses display in patient care.
“MHP has over 150 full time nurses in 15 different departments who provide outstanding care and display incredible talent,” Keuning said. “Whether it be helping to prevent infections, providing direct patient care or going the extra mile to ensure patients return home safely, our nurses have a hand in every step.”
National Nurses Week is always celebrated through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale. According to the ANA, Nightingale was the founder of modern nursing and a great example for all nurses to look up to. MHP joins this celebration because nurses are on the front lines of patient care and have a big impact on the quality of service we provide.
