New Sharon, Iowa – Dominiuqe Garlington, a freshman Elementary Education Major at William Penn University, recently worked with students in Mrs. DeBoef’s kindergarten class at North Mahaska Elementary. The Intro to Elementary Education class, taught by Professor Dana Oswald, requires William Penn students to have 12 hours of observation as part the course curriculum. Hours are split between Ottumwa and North Mahaska elementary schools. These visits allow students the opportunity to observe the classroom dynamic and interact with the young students in order to get a better understanding and insight into the field of elementary education.
The Education Division of William Penn University would like to thank the administration and teachers at area elementary schools for opening their classrooms to Elementary Education students for these valuable hours of interaction and hands-on learning.
